FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
For years, I've helped friends and family members with their resumes out of my love for editing and good writing. After getting to be a part of an interview team at a former job, I realized how much help individuals (especially young graduates) need in communicating effectively in the interview. As with resumes, I began coaching friends and family on their interviewing skills, ultimately inspiring me to establish a business doing this for others. Career coaching makes me excited to do my work!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I think the most common path would be to work with a client on their resume, helping them to see how they can reframe the written version of their work history, and then we realize that it might be helpful to do at least one interview coaching session, since the two work hand-in-hand. Most clients receive a few rounds of editing on their resume and at least 1-2 interview/career coaching sessions depending on their needs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find someone who you feel comfortable with. You'll get the most out of your sessions if you can really be yourself, and that won't happen if you can't make a connection with your coach.
