Monique is friendly, professional, and responds in a timeline fashion to all communications. She is trustworthy as well: she made sure we spoke on the phone so that she could get a sense of my actual need before quoting a dollar value for her services. Afterwards, she followed up with a formal emailed quote for a reasonable price. She completed my tax preparation on-time and was very willing to answer any questions I had after I received my forms back from her. This is only my second time filing taxes and she was very patient and helpful when we spoke on the phone. I would recommend her!

Since I travel for work, I don't have a lot of time at home for appointments and often have several W2 forms and supplemental documents.Monique made this all easy for me. I was able to submit all my documents and information online through a secure server, and my tax documents came back to me very quickly. After years of doing our own taxes, using an accountant our parents recommended or a last minute discount prep franchise, I found Monique on Thumbtack. She responded to me within a day, despite it being in the middle of tax season. I was very stressed, having realized i was a bit in over my head due to some recent changes. Monique is easy to talk to, a great listener and a knowledgeable professional. I trusted her immediately. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees are typically project based. I do not bill by the hour as our profession traditionally has done; as it is an outdated method that is no longer appropriate in this age of technology.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost, I like to learn about my prospective client's background, specifics regarding the scope of the work, and what their expectations are on timing and communication. Once I have sufficient info I am able to provide them with an estimate of my fee & determine whether or not that works for them. From there, we decide on how to proceed that is most comfortable and convenient for my client, i.e. would they like to work virtually or prefer face-to-face.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take 40 hours of continuing ed a year, as well as reading daily professional updates.
