Working with J&J Studios was an amazing experience! They were down to earth and very easy to work with. My fiancee and I were nervous about being posed and taking these shots, but after the first picture it felt so natural. All of our pictures turned out amazing and they posed us in really cute ways. We had a 2 hour shoot and they made use of every single minute and gave us everything we want. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Working with J&J Studios was fun and easy from start to finish! I was planning my proposal when I came across J&J on this website and I am very happy I ended up going with them. Before booking, they gave me a call, talked about the details and ensured me of good quality and a good price. We then spoke multiple times via email and over the phone leading up to the event. They not only listened to my ideas and what I wanted but also assisted me in making this day the best that it could be with their knowledge of the location and previous engagements there. The day of, they showed up early to the location, met with my friends and helped to coordinate the perfect location. They texted me over test shots while we were on our way over so I was able to ask them to adjust the framing a little and make sure the shots were exactly what I was looking for. After the proposal, they followed us over to the restaurant and took all manner of group and candid photos. They stayed with us for a good 3 hours and then when they left they immediately began processing the photos. 3 hours later we had a video sent over to us of the day, and by the next morning, we had all the photos, a short and a long video of the day. They were very nice and professional through the whole process and we would be happy to work with them again!

I hired John as the photographer for my wedding in June 2016, and he was great. We met a month or two prior to the wedding to discuss the event. John was very professional. He arrived an hour or so before the ceremony to check out and photograph the church and the grounds. When we arrived, he knew exactly what pictures he wanted to take of us before the ceremony and it was very efficient. He has a great eye for pictures. We hardly noticed him at the reception. He was not "in your face" or intrusive at all, yet his pictures captured the reception perfectly. Many of our guests commented how nice and personable he was. We were extremely happy with our experience with John, and we love his photos. I would hire him again.

John was fantastic for our last minute elopement photos! I wish Thumbtack would let me check all the boxes for why J&J Studios is amazing. John made us feel comfortable even when I felt like such a scatterbrain. He basically served as the master of events in our brief hour with him and knew just what to do to give us the best value for our time. He has a great eye and though I've only seen the preview photos, I'm so looking forward to the rest! Go with J&J Studios, you will not regret it!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices are variable-- each photography quote takes into account the photography coverage time, the amount of equipment needed, the hours of travel/setup/breakdown, the degree of complexity of the editing, the a la carte services added (photo booth, albums, prints, etc), and various other items so prices are unique to each and every client. Wedding photo coverage starts at $1999, with the typical investment being $3000-3500. Wedding photo and video coverage starts at $4300, typical photo+video package investment is $5600-6500.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We typically schedule a 15 min phone consultation with the client to discuss their project further and then move onto drawing up a contract and taking deposit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am certified in Adobe Photoshop and regularly attend seminars from B&H Photo and other reputable photography companies on the eastern seaboard. I also participate in various art exhibits and photography shows in the greater Philadelphia area.
