Introduction: As a photographer with 30 years of experience I am diligent with creating images that evoke beauty and honesty. I connect with people and am successful at capturing ever-changing emotions and expressions. At a reception I make it a point to photograph all the guests and all the details. I have professional quality photo equipment and use my knowledge of composition and quality of light to make interesting, lovely, and fun images for you to keep forever. I love photographing people at important times in their lives. I love documenting families, dancers, students, doctors. I still, after all these many years, love the challenge of making a beautiful and interesting image that is unique and special to that person.

Susan was the photographer for my son's bar mitzvah this past September. She came highly recommended by several people and after having a few conversations with her and checking out her portfolio; I knew that I wanted her to capture our special day. And capture it; she did. On the day of the event; she was able to capture so many special moments. She was warm and engaging with everyone and several of our guests mentioned to me how warm and wonderful she was. She was involved and engaged without being intrusive. A few weeks after our event; she emailed our proofs and a setup for our final album. I was overjoyed to see that she had captured so many special moments from both the service and the party. Just looking at all of her incredible photographs immediately brought me back to our special day. Our albums have now arrived and we love looking at them all the time. We did have an additional album made for grandparents who live two hours away so they can get as much joy looking at their album as often as they want. Susan was an absolute pleasure to work with from the planning stages to the day of the event to the final delivery of the albums.

Susan covered my daughter's bat mitzvah in April 2017, from the early morning synagogue ceremony to the wee hours of the night time dance party! She was on time for everything, had a great assistant and, best of all, the photos she took were extraordinary! We have a photo memory album that is just amazing, with photos of us (the hosts/parents) and family and friends at each stage of the day. She even captured photos of the centerpieces and small details that we all worked so hard on, so I could remember everything. I would highly recommend Susan Pardys for any event large or small, as she is really easy to communicate with. She responds right away, either via email or telephone, which is also helpful.

Susan has photographed two bar/bat mitzvahs for my family. In addition to being reasonably priced and professional, she somehow captured the exuberant mood of both of our events -- -- laughing grandparents, dancing teens, ecstatic parents. All her pictures are beyond wonderul. We've referred Susan to several friends as well, for large parties and family portraits, and they all have reported back in the most glowing terms. Susan is magic.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am flexible with my pricing based on type of event, hours spent photographing and in post-production. As a guide, for photographing a bar or bat mitzvah, including 2 hr portrait session, 4 hr reception, jpg images, and a large custom album is about $1,800-$2,100. Or photographing a 3hr. event with jpg images is about $400-$550.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I listen to what the client is planning and hoping for. We either meet in person or talk on the phone. I make sure I understand the details, then I send a written proposal. I keep open to what the client wants until the last photo is taken.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in photography from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. I began my career as a photojournalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Almanac Newspapers and the City Paper in Wash., DC. I learned advanced Photoshop at University of the Arts.
