FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee for a half hour lesson is fifty dollars. I charge eighty-five dollars for hour lessons. I prefer to be paid on a monthly basis, but I am flexible in this matter. I offer discounts for 4-6 week lesson packages.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lessons are about my getting to know the student musically and allowing the student to get familiar with me as well. Lots of questions, not too much playing initially. I like to tailor the lessons to the needs of my students and their musical interests while also guiding and asserting towards musical excellence.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for over thirty five years. I have a bachelors of music from Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, now known as University of the Arts. I have had many wonderful teachers. I also have taught master classes and worked as an educator in many colleges and institutions nationwide, including the Smithsonian Institute, Rutgers University, Williams College etc. I have been a working professional as a jazz artist and composer in the field for forty years,
