Joelle did a fabulous job on my makeup! I always ask for a soft glam look with a dewy base, fake lashes and glowy eyes, and a peachy nude lip. She NAILED the look exactly and also gave me tips on how to get better at fake lashes and where to buy disposables in bulk. She also gave me a to go baggy with extra lip product and the makeup sponge and powder puff she used. Not all makeup artists do this and it’s super helpful for touchups. I had also broken my face wash bottle cap before she arrived and she gave me a rubber cap! She’s amazing and if she lived in DC I would hire her for every event!

Joelle was absolutely phenomenal! I love working with people who are professional and enthusiastic, and Joelle was exactly that, plus more! She was the first to contact me when I submitted my request and was extremely responsive. Plus, she came more than prepared! I absolutely loved that she had a mini fan with her; I really needed it during my make up session. We own a production company and have hired professional make-up artists before. This time, it was for a personal party, but I have to say, she far exceeded the other artists we have previously hired for our company shoots. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always ask my new clients of any concerns that they have. Also understanding what look they’re going for. I always want to exceed expectations and also manage them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have trained with some of the best make up artist in the business Sam fine, Renny Vasquez & Tiyana Robinson to name a few. I don’t at all considered myself self taught. I worked very hard to be able to be able to train with the Makeup Artist I feel reflect my values in beauty standards.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I studied as a portrait and fashion photographer in college. Starting out in photography was a little difficult to hire Makeup Artist. Since I always loved Makeup and had a passion for it was easy for me to be able to do both jobs.
