FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Remodeling is very different than new construction pricing. With that said, each project has its own unique obstacles and budget. Most customers don't know what it costs to achieve their goals. I have built a reputation of achieving customers goals while working with their budgets without sacrificing quality. I have no hidden fees. I set proper expectations with customers and work with them to maximize their options. **Renovations are tricky. Contractors can't see thru walls. We do our best to provide the most accurate numbers when we estimate jobs. Having a contingency budget is a must!!!!! 15% should be set aside for these unforeseeable problems. In certain situations more or less than 15% may be adequate, but 15% has usually been a good number. When any work to be done is not a part of the original budget, the customer should be made aware immediately. Once a game plan is discussed and any cost associated is agreed upon, a change order will be submitted. This is an agreement/contract of additional work, additional money, and additional time required to go forward with the project. If the customer does not agree to move forward with the change order, a liability form will be signed by the customer to absolve the contractor of any liability going forward.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First step: Meet the customer and go over scope of work to be done and/or budget for project. Provide credentials to customer. Second step: Design scope of work and a itemized estimate for project. Third step: Make changes to scope of work and/or estimate if any, and finalize both. Fourth step: Discuss start date, payment schedule, and address any questions and concerns. Fifth step: Sign contract, and initial deposit is made. Work will then commence on agreed upon start date.
