I am so happy I used Art and his crew’s service. The two movers were extremely nice, professional and efficient. They were careful transporting the furniture and flexible when I asked them to move a couch that wasn’t in the original inventory I listed. It took a few hours to get responses while I was messaging in the days leading up to the move which stressed me out, but besides that I have no complaints and would definitely recommend them.

We are very pleased with Moyers Moving Services and how they handled our move. We moved 16 miles from one house to another house. We had Moyers only move the furniture, and they did very well. The three movers were friendly, patient, and uncomplaining. Working with Emily was a wonderful experience. We will likely us Moyers again in the future.

Excellent communication. Very professional and friendly staff who made the move in Philadelphia easy. I would highly recommend ( I am hard to impress). After a long day.....the movers asked, "before we leave, is there any piece of furniture we could reposition for you." Very pleased with the whole experience and would hire again.

We were moving from a one bedroom apartment, but had some extra furniture in the basement storage. Dave arrived with two movers and they moved quickly and efficiently. We were very pleased with their service.

My experience with John Carson Relocation was related to a long distance (1000 miles) move of household goods, tools, and yard equipment. Mr. Carson is a friendly and straight forward person. He was always on time, and kept in contact with me throughout the planning, loading, and moving so there were no surprises or worries about the timing of activities. He has integrity with regard to taking care of his customers' goods and their property. In the case where some damage did occur, he was quick to acknowledge it and 100% willing to make things right. He also went the "extra mile" to mail a piece of hardware that, unknown to everyone (including me) at the time of unloading, came off a furniture item and ended up going back to Pennsylvania on the truck. My only criticism of the move would be that I believe more care could have been applied to the moving of large furniture pieces (especially a piano). This includes the physical moving from the house to the truck and the blanketing of the items prior to removal from the house. John was short-handed during the pick-up and unloading due to some people having the flu. Not having enough help made the job more difficult and made protection of the furniture less than it should have been. That said, with roughly 45 moving boxes of items shipped along with the furniture pieces, all the boxed items arrived in good shape with no blemishes or damage of any kind.

I had two movers help me unload 3 16’ PODS. They moved like lightening and never touched a wall. I would highly recommend Ace to anyone I know. They know what they are doing and give you great value.

Keep it Moving was hands down the best moving company I have ever worked with. They helped me with a long distance move from Philly to Boston and they were excellent. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, were very nice and professional, and were extremely careful with all of my things. I can't say enough good things about this moving company! I'm recommending them to all my friends back in Philly. Thank you for a seamless move!

Joe was excellent and very professional when it came to communicating with me and responding to my messages and getting my job setup. Troy was awesome and did a great job moving my sister and my things. Unfortunately, one of the movers didn't show up, so a job we expected to take 2 hours took 4 1/2. We ended up helping or else it would've been longer and more expensive, not to mention one person can't move large dressers and furniture. The good thing was the hourly fee was cut down, but we still didn't plan for the extra half hour. We also didn't get as far as we planned with what we wanted to do on our own that day and ended up pretty sore and exhausted, since we helped. I wanted to hire movers, so I didn't have to worry about it, but unfortunately it didn't go that way.

Worked with Ruben and his team to carry out a long-distance move over a weekend and cannot sing his praises enough. He was very polite, courteous, professional and communicative throughout as he and his team worked diligently and efficiently to move, assemble / disassemble items. In addition, he was very willing to work within the confines of what I had in mind for a budget, which was a huge relief. The move was completed without a hitch and I'd recommend his services without hesitation. Thanks again Ruben.

Garrett and his team were excellent! They communicated well as we were working on the quote, and he was very patient with all our changes, including date changes. The move went so smoothly on both ends, and they were a pleasure to work with. It is nice to have movers who are clean, hard workers, and obviously want to work with their clients to make the move as easy as can be. They took care to wrap the furniture, and make sure all our items were safe. I liked that their truck was also clean, with their logo on the side who I knew who they were. We used them for a long distance move, from PA to CT, but they do local moves too. Definitely highly recommended!

We recently moved (this past February). From start to finish they were EXCEPTIONAL. I have moved several times in my life. From Chicago to New Jersey, New Jersey to Delaware and now again within the state of Delaware just a different town. All I can say is wish all moving companies operated like All Around Moverz. From the very start working with Grace to the very end with the movers simply the best! Customer Service is something they could teach others. The movers where on time and professional, extremely courteous and may I say CLEAN. By that I mean they swept up behind themselves constantly (& it was snowing the day I moved). Everyone my husband and I encoutered with this company where just outstanding! I wish I knew about them with my past moves. But, if I ever move again ( I REALLY HOPE NOT). Without a shadow of a doubt I will be using All Around Moverz!!! I almost left out a very important part of this review - the prices are more than REASONABLE!

We just moved for the 3rd time with Trico Long Distance Movers Philadelphia (as you can see, we have a track record of moving pretty frequently) and once again had a great experience. The guys had a good attitude and worked hard and fast (even though they had to carry our stuff up two flights of stairs). Thanks again - you guys are awesome!

I will surely recommend Movers & co every time I hear that someone I know is moving. I was nervous about my moving day but once the movers arrived I felt such a sense of relief. They took the time to wrap and protect all my larger items while moving them. They were very efficient, courteous, and professional.

This was the first time we moved and decided to go with this company because they came highly recommended by neighbors. I talked to saleswoman who was very helpful. She provided me with a quote over the phone based on the items we were moving. The price didn't seem too bad for a long distance move so I put a deposit down to reserve our move out date. I had to change my moving date a couple of times and she accommodated me with that. The moving crew worked very fast in loading & unloading my items without damaging anything. If need be, I'd use them again.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
