I've only had a few lessons with Scott Elliott, and so far I'm very pleased. When I first saw his profile picture he was wearing a tux, and I thought he'd be the right teacher for me. I'm a middle-aged amateur who has finally decided to "get serious" about guitar playing. Scott has responded very thoughtfully to where I want to go without imposing a strong agenda of his own. (That was always the problem with my son's piano teachers.) We've been exploring rock, pop, swing and jazz. Scott's mix of musical experience, respect for student, and patience has suited me well, and I'm sure it would work for many other students.Aug 20, 2019Verified

Scott was very quick to respond, flexibly and extremely helpful in getting my husband started in learning how to play. He loved his lesson, Scott's professionalism and is going back for more. I would highly recommend him!Mar 23, 2015Verified

Was able to 'diagnose' fairly quickly where I am in my playing and what would be the next best step to improve. Succinct explanations and he leaves room to ask questions and play as well.May 6, 2019Verified

Guitar Lessons (for adults)
I'm an odd guitar student, played a long time with some study over the years but not skilled, not disciplined; an amateur. Scott was able to determine during the first lesson where I am and what I need at this point, and show me in an exciting and simple manner what I can be doing. I was surprised.Jun 29, 2016Verified

Scott is a fantastic guitar teacher. I've been doing lessons with him for about two years now and it has greatly benefited my playing. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience which he is able to communicate in an easily understandable manner. His schedule is flexible and prices are reasonable. If you're looking for a guitar instructor around Pittsburgh, you would have a real tough time finding anyone better!Jan 2, 2012
