"Daryl was super professional and took amazing pictures for our pre-wedding photoshoot. First, he was punctual and professional, and communicated all details ahead of time so there were no surprises. On the day of the photoshoot, there was unfortunately some rain and Daryl was super kind and understanding and agreed to start the photoshoot an hour late despite having traveled for two hours to get to our location. Then Daryl spent time taking amazing pictures of us in various spots and was suggesting various poses and providing clear communication about where the best lighting would be, what props to use etc. to make the entire process a breeze. Even though we ran out of time in the end, Daryl did not hesitate to spend extra time (without a penalty ofc) so we could cover one more location we badly wanted. I really appreciate Daryl for this. He totally didn’t have to do this. After the photoshoot, Daryl edited a few pictures within a couple of days to give us a sneak peek and delivered all edited photos within a week. Last but not the least, the photos... they look amazing! Great lighting, amazing colors and great quality. They look like work done by someone who actually cares. I’d recommend Daryl for the job 100% if someone’s looking to have a hassle-free, great quality professional photoshoot."

"Lynda was out photographer for our October wedding, we had a small private wedding at our friend’s farm. Lynda was very professional and attentive for the whole process up to the wedding and on the wedding day, which erupted into carious as our minister was 2 hours late. We did an hourly pay with Lynda and she was willing to stay past her schedule time slot, (by many hours) to make sure we had photos. With the minister being late we were unable to do couple photos on this beautiful farm since it was dark and the lighting was not working.( we waited to do couple photos until after we were married). Lynda immediately was willing to come out the next morning before a party she had to go, to do photos for us at the farm so we would have the best phots possible. On top of taking photos on the day Lynda helped me keep my cool and I felt I could rely on her for some support too which was a huge added bonus. Her Photos came out amazing and I am still shocked to this day how beautiful they came out. Her photography exceeded all my expectations! We are constantly getting praised about how beautiful our wedding photos came out. Lynda’s experience and ability to think fast on her feet truly had an impact on our day. I could not be any happier with the quality of our photos I am so proud they are what we will have for the rest of our life to charice."

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
