I have lived and worked in Germany so that I emphasize a lot of common-usage expressions and customs that may not be present in solely textbook-based instruction.
I also work with many school students who are already enrolled in a German course to improve their performance in that course. Besides straightening out any grammar or vocabulary questions the student is encountering, we do homework and prepare for tests together.

Steve is helping my high school daughter get caught up in her German III class. She had fallen behind due to getting stuck on a few assignments. He’s really getting her back on track. In 3 days they had 4 1-hour appointments and she is finishing assignments between lessons as well as with him. He’s teaching some tricks to help with difficult or tedious concepts. It’s clear he enjoys teaching and is good at motivating without pushing too hard. I am very happy we hired Steve!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My tuition fee is $17 per hour if the lessons are twice per week and $20 if once per week. If we use a textbook, the cost of the Deutsch Aktuell text, used but in good condition from Amazon, is about $10.00 including shipping.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I engage my German clients in practical conversation by departing from dialogs and stories from materials that I send and from a textbook that is full of other resources as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in German and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching. Besides having lived and worked in Germany, I have taught either German or Latin or both for the last 30 years.
