Learning from Nick has been great! His lessons/plans/notes are concise and not overwhelming for a beginner. I saw progress after the first few lessons which was awesome and something I had not really experienced messing around with the guitar/ taking some lessons over the years. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone wanting to play guitar!

Details: 26 - 44 years old • No formal training; some self-taught experience • No, cannot read music • Acoustic • Rock • Blues • Country • Folk • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

PVD Guitar's reply
Thanks, Julie! It's been great working together so far, and I've seen a lot of progress in just a few sessions! I'm excited to see you keep going!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My private lesson rates are: $35 - 30 min. $50 - 45 min. $60 - 60 min. Add $10/lesson for local travel to your home. (My travel availability varies. Just ask!)

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always start by evaluating a new student's previous playing experience, ability level, and personal goals. From there, I tailor the lessons to help them move steadily towards their goals and address any bigger issues that may be holding them back.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over 10 years of experience as a full-time guitar instructor working with students of all ages, ability levels, interests, and goals. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a B.A. in Jazz Studies for guitar and the URI Award for Musical Excellence.
