He has participated in leading cases in the state of Rhode Island, including in the area of medical malpractice, construction disputes, and insurance subrogation. Mark graduated from the University of Rhode Island (1980) and the New England School of Law (1983), where he served as research editor of the New England Law Review and published an article in its journal concerning the contribution of parties in federal Title VII cases. He represented his law school in the interscholastic mock trial competition and graduated cum laude in 1983. Upon graduation, Mark served as a law clerk to the Rhode Island trial court bench for the superior, family, and district court judiciary. Mark lectures on a variety of legal issues, including ERISA litigation, evidence, subrogation liens, expert testimony, civil trial practice, the Rhode Rules of Civil Procedure, and Rhode Island domestic law. He has volunteered as a judge to the regional law school mock trial competition and acted as chief judge for the regional competition on multiple occasions. Mark is past president of the Rhode Island Association for Justice (formerly Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association), serves on its board of governors, and is the editor for its journal, the RI Association for Justice Newsletter. He also has served on the board of governors for American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA). Mark is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association House of Delegates and Executive Committee. He is a member of the Superior Court Bench Bar Committee and is its past chairperson. He also chaired the subcommittee to review and revise the Rhode Island Civil Rules of Procedure enacted on June 15, 2006. He is a member of the RI Bar Association Animal Law Committee, Family Court Bench Bar Committee, and the Federal Bench Bar Committee. He is a fellow to the Rhode Island Bar Foundation. Mark was chosen by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Commission to be a co-editor of the Discovery and Depositions Rhode Island Practice Volume published in September 2010. He is a legal counsel to Defenders of Animals, The Friends of the Music Mansion, and The Feinstein Foundations. Mark is married with three children.
