FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly, I write as a guest commentator or blogger on the web for small to intermediate commentary and review websites. Though I typically try to stick to one-off roles in this capacity, I am also open to longer-running roles as long as everyone begins with well-established parameters as to what would be expected. My background is primarily in long form fiction (novels), but I've begun to expand my literary experience recently with regular contributions to political blogs, movie review web sites, and newspaper editorial columns. Ideally, I'd love to work full time in the industry in some capacity - whether it's as a staff writer or regular contributor.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always take a look at a writer's portfolio. While he / she may have a great resume and credentials, ultimately his / her writing style will be the most important indicator of whether your ideas will mesh. Some writers may have worked in the newspaper industry all their lives but have a flare for fiction; conversely, someone who's written novels for a long time may be a perfect candidate for blogging or editorial writing. It all boils down to ability and writing samples. At the end of the day though, the best thing to trust is your own instinct - based on reading a writer's portfolio and speaking to him / her, you should be able to make an informed choice.
