FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken many writing courses in college and continuously love educating myself. I post to a photography blog (www.ashleywatermanphotography.com/blog), which although is an informal format, my clients seem to really enjoy reading. I was told recently that I made a bride's mother cry when she read the post.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I believe everyone can write, but that some of us have that little something extra. My teachers told my parents when I was young, that someday I would make an incredible writer. I always had these wild ideas and scribbled away in my notebook which never left my side. I published a few poems in our local paper and continued to write short stories and poetry until I began to teach a few years back. Then I began to help my students become better writers which was incredibly rewarding.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
It was not a job per say, but a project I've been working on for the last three years. I finished writing a children's book which I read to my students last year without informing them that it was mine. They loved it and I was overjoyed because the message is so powerful. I hope to publish it soon because I'd love to make the books into a series.
