FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I graduated from high school many moons ago, I missed a job fair that I really wanted to attend. Fortunately, my cousin brought me back a flier and I noticed everyone was asking for a resume. I sat down at my typewriter and got one together using hobbies, summer jobs, and any relevant information I could think of. I got the job and that opened Pandora's box. Soon, relatives and friends were asking me to write their resumes and boasted of the positive results - interviews! It did not take me long to associate these reviews with past compliments from my English teachers in school to confirm my God-given talent of writing. The rest is history!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Lately, I have been getting a lot of requests for military conversion and career change resumes. However, over the past 20 years, I have received resume requests from people from all types of fields.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Word of caution! Do not go with the cheapest resume-writer. Pay a price that is ridiculously low and you may end up paying several times to get true satisfaction. Keep in mind that several writers who charge low prices are more than likely subcontracting your valuable project to people who are not even qualified to charge the market rate for their work. I also recommend that you look at a before and after sample of the writers work. This way, you can see how the writer has transformed their clients marketability. Is your writer technology savvy? In this day and age, certain businesses MUST have a website. A Professional Resume-writer should have a website for you to peruse. Check out the quality of the writing on the website as well. Have you researched your writer? As a hiring manager, I can tell you that employees are researched on the Internet prior to being hired a high percentage of the time. So how about, running your writer's name or business through a Google search to see what you can dig up? Does your writer have published articles? For example, do an Internet search for "Claudia Newton resume writer." You may be surprised at what you may find! Choosing the right professional to represent you on paper is a very important task. Doing so with diligence will help to make you a wise consumer as you make this crucial self-investment in your future.
