Its purpose is to allow us to communicate directly with your insurance company about your claim, so we can document the damage to their standards, submit our scope on your behalf, and push back when a claim is undervalued or delayed. Without it, insurers won't discuss your claim with us, and homeowners are often left negotiating on their own. Contractors who provide a general estimate without this form are giving you a number, but they aren't able to advocate for you with your carrier. That advocacy is a large part of what we do for the families we work with.
