FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge for tear out, prep work, floor install, molding, appliances to move, furniture to move, and trash removal (If tear out is done or customer moves furniture, appliances or molding, I will deduct my charges from the total cost)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to know my customer’s name and talk a little to get to know them. Then I will ask what flooring they’re wanting installed and then Depending on the material I will charge per Sqft. This mean SqFt tear out, SqFt install, Ft Ln quarter round, transition(s) install, furniture, disposal fee, then I would have a quote. Hours before installing I’ll ask what direction they would prefer and if they want my opinion I will go with what I know looks good and what’s typical. I do like to have at least 10% waste even if you have 2 extra boxes, I don’t like being nervously close because I don’t want to come back to install a couple boards.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Basic hands on training from a carpenter and learn tool safety and respect for tools. I have graduated High school and went straight to work, didn’t feel the need to go to college as I could make money right away doing what I love.
