FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
- $85.00 per man hour including drive time - 25% mark up on materials. - $130.00 minimum for all house calls plus the previously mentioned $85.00 per hour after.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On larger projects, I like to meet our clients/homeowners in person and thoroughly walk through the details. The homeowner and carpenter relationship is one that I feel should be built on partnership, trust and creativity. We are in this together. Photos are generally taken for reference. Then a detailed, good faith estimate for time and materials is emailed. Estimates are never the price, especially for custom projects since unforeseen challenges and additional ideas tend arise. In most cases, my estimates are higher than the price. My goal and intention is to always come in under the estimate. This generally insures a "no surprises" and welcomed final invoice. On smaller handyman/repair projects, homeowners typically send photos via text. In most cases, I can send estimates without a visit but I love to meet and interact with clients.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the construction and home remodeling/repair business since 1995 and in business for myself since 2004.
