FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our standard rate for moving labor is $75 per hour for two movers and a hand truck with a two hour minimum and a $20 travel charge. Our Full Service rate adds a truck/travel charge which ranges from $50-$100 depending on the mileage. The truck/travel charge includes the truck, fuel, dollys, shrink wrap, tools, and tape. Everything to make your move a success. The immediate Chattanooga area includes Ft O, Rossville, Chickamauga, Ooltewah, Ringgold, East Ridge, Red Bank, Brainerd, East Brainerd, and Hixson. These areas are $50 (depending on the distance your being moved to). I also have a Tundra truck and trailer if you do not need to move a lot of things.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get a feel for what the customer is wanting done in a move. Do they want packing help? Is a load, unload, or both. Is it local or long distance? I ask if they want the cheapest rate possible through some elbow grease on their own or if they want the full service treatment. An inventory or knowledge of access to both load and unload are key. An in home estimate is the best way to get an approximate time to hire long the move will take. It's also a perfect time to answer any questions you might have and go some cost saving tips.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been trained personally by two of the biggest moving companies in Chattanooga. They are also the most expensive. Through their training, constant research, my own experience, and input from every mover I've ever talked to, we have become a well oiled machine that is always open to suggestions. This doesn't mean that we don't make mistakes, but when we do we fix it. All of us at Chattanooga Moving go through an extensive training process that includes moving videos, hands on training, and testing.
