We could not be happier with Ray Sanduski's photography services! What a relief, because we hired him from Thumbtack and we could not be certain what we would truly get, being that we are in Oregon but our event was in Tennessee. My boss is not easy to please, and Ray impressed my boss quite well! We were brainstorming for "out-of-the-box" ideas for sponsorship ideas for the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys inaugural event, as the main sponsorship was taken by a competitor, so we wanted to do something that could shine some light on us, and Ray sure did that, and at a fraction of the cost it would have been to be the main sponsor. We had the idea to have Ray attend the event on the first day of the event for 4 hours, and have attendees get professional headshots taken (to use for their social media accounts or websites, or office pictures, etc.).
I was so pleased with Ray's immediate responses to all of my questions during the few months between first contacting him and the actual event. We were not certain we would end up booking this type of event, but he kept us on his calendar while we considered it, and he remained quick to respond and enthusiastic throughout.
I was concerned this idea would be a flop (have a photographer there, but have very few attorneys/attendees go though with taking a professional headshot), and we are so glad that we decided to do it, because not only was it not a flop, but it was a major hit at the event! My boss was on location with Ray at the event, and he said Ray was excellent at working with each person he photographed. Ray had informed me that he can bring the best out in people, and my boss said yes, he sure can! Ray has a great personality and made it easy for people to take their photos, and my boss said Ray knew how to work with each individual to get their best photo. It also gave my boss a chance to greet and talk with those that came to the photo station Ray set up at the event. My boss said it was a much better interaction then people interacting with him at a typical booth setting. Ray worked quickly, without making anybody feel rushed.
That same evening, Ray emailed me a list of names and email addresses of each person he photographed about 54 people, plus some group photos), and that next morning provided me access to all of the photos. I was so happy and relieved to see that EVERY photo looked great! Much better than I expected. That made my job quite pleasant of then emailing each person their photos (Ray provided a minimum of 2 photos per person or group). He did lighting and touchup adjustments as part of the cost. As an aside, because the photos were in such high resolution, I could not email more than one photo from Microsoft Outlook due to size constraints, so I used DropBox to provide each person a link to their photos in DropBox folders I created for each person.
It was also nice to know that the people getting their photos taken were not going to get a sales job/pitch on buying photos or prints. We told the event attendees that they will get their digital photos for free - which as we all know, can sometimes come with strings attached or not actually free, but this was truly free, and no fuss. I mentioned in the email to each person that they did have the option to buy a printed photo from Ray, but that was only for their convenience if they wanted one, and I am sure Ray was not going to gouge them, if they did.
We are so glad this turned out well, and am so thankful that we got Ray to take our job. He had the lowest bid price, but did the job in an extremely professional and reliable manner. We really got our money's worth by having Ray at the event, as the cost to hire him was about the cost it would have been for somebody to do 2-3 personal photo sessions, and we had over 50 people take photos.
Thanks so much, Ray. We now know why you have such high ratings!
To respect the privacy of our event attendees, I won't be posting any photos of the event, but I can assure you they look great!
