I have been through my share of vets and I have finally found a great place with Hendersonville Animal Hospital. Dr. Aine is so kind and accommodating and you can definitely tell she loves her fur-patients. The staff is wonderful. Dr. Aine and the staff are always considerate and attentive when I ask my one thousand questions. Im never felt to be an inconvenience. They really want you to be comfortable and informed. Some reviews have complained about the high costs. From my experience, most pet care is not cheap, unless you are willing to sacrifice quality service. Ive had a few cats with issues. In most of those cases, I have been given a wide range of treatment options and have been able to choose based on my budget. I guess the only complaint I have is that I wish they were open on Saturdays. That being said, Ive never had any issues with getting an appointment immediately and they do have later hours. Thank you Dr. Aine and staff. I appreciate you.

My dad is a veterinarian and so when I moved to Hendersonville, I was very picky about where my wife and I would take our dogs. After trying a few other places, we finally found Hendersonville Animal Hospital. The facility was clean and attractive and the staff courteous and professional. The owner, Dr. Aine Corridon was friendly, helpful and seemed to genuinely care about our pets' needs. Recently, I took my 3 year old dog, Roxy, in for a dental cleaning. I got a call an hour later from Hendersonville Animal Hospital saying that Roxy's teeth were already very clean and that they didn't want to do the procedure because it could actually do more harm than good (because her teeth were so clean). Wow! Thanks for your honesty Hendersonville Animal Clinic! I bet there are a lot of other places that would have put my dog under anesthesia, done the procedure and taken our money. Don't take your pets anywhere else! The staff at Hendersonville Animal Hospital are professional, courteous, honest, knowledgeable and offer competitive prices. I'm thankful to have found them!

Response to Owner:I was informed when I asked today about addressing the real issue, that the cheaper and easier solution was the $145 per dog per month as any other test was not likely to discover the actual issue and was further led to believe that the $145 per month per dog was the cheaper option. If neither of those are true statements, then I would love to get my dogs the treatment they need. What I find unpleasant is being mislead at the time of treatment and dismissal on the phone when I sought additional options. I appreciate your response but it doesn't address any of the issues I've had. Original Post:TL;DR: After a $700 visit, I was told a skin itch would be resolved only to find out 1 month later that it would never be resolved at this vet but they could mask the itch for $145 per month per dog. Based on my experience, you should expect to pay a high price and see minimal or very temporary results.Took both of my dogs in for itchy skin. For the itchy skin, the vet prescribed one medicine over a one week period that would "take care of the skin issues" and an antibiotic. Additionally, the vet STRONGLY suggested several other treatments. The visit cost $700.The itching subsided during the one week of medicine but 2 weeks later, the itch was worse than before. I called today to see what my options were and the receptionist informed me that the medicine was never intended to cure the itch but just to mask it. Many dogs stay on the medicine for the rest of their life and I could come pick it up for $145 per month per dog. When I asked why we couldn't figure out the actual problem and address that, I was told I could pay for a full work up, but that it might not tell us the issue and really, the best option is the $145 per month. It was my understanding the $700 included a full workup. I wanted to have the problem addressed but she led me to believe that the testing would likely be ineffective and more expensive than the $145 per month per dog so i was left without a workable solution. The staff were kind while I was in there but I was severely mislead regarding the results I should see. Based on my experience, you should expect to pay a high price and see minimal or very temporary results.
Hendersonville Animal Hospital's reply
Dear Gregory, I hate to hear Davey and Milo are still itchy. We hoped that after getting the skin infections under control and placing them on effective flea and tick preventive, that this would resolve. Because it did not, they may need special allergy testing or other diagnostics to diagnose the underlying issue. Allergies can be very frustrating and require life long management much like in humans. The $700 did cover their complete physicals, heartworm tests, fecal checks, vaccinations, and 3 months of flea and tick prevention for both pets. It did not however cover further testing such as allergy testing. Please let us know if this is something you would like to pursue. Sincerely, Dr. Aine Corridon
