I am a licensed active Realtor working in Knoxville and the surrounding areas. I called Scott Stanley in the hopes he could help me with a possible property discretion I had in order to best protect me buyer. Scott never even having met me called me back almost right away and was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also professional and pleasant. He totally went out of his way to help. That is hard to find! There is no doubt that Scott will be the first land surveyor I call from now on & I will be sharing his name with all of my associates as well. Thank you. I needed my lot surveyed for a fence installation. I was able to have the land survey scheduled within a few days. Very friendly service and very professional work. Upon arrival, I pointed out my needs, and in a couple of hours I was requested to walk the lot, and all points were shown and described. I certainly recommend True Meridian!Jun 1, 2016Verified
Scott was on time, very thorough and knowledgeable. His prices are reasonable and the service exceptional. I will definitely call him the next time I need a surveyor!Oct 5, 2015Verified
Scott responded promptly to our initial request. We were new to this area and he was very patient explain gall the ins and outs. He charged a reasonable fee, competitive with other surveyors we talked to. Scott even did some extra work that had little to do with the job we hired him for. He absolutely went above and beyond and we highly recommend him. Reliable and dependable.Aug 30, 2014Verified
This man came to my house 5 times. Had wrong results 3 times. After advising my neighbor that they were encroaching my property. My neighbor advised me that the survey was wrong and that he too was a surveyor. He then found the corner pin. We made Scott aware of this. He simply came out and changed his set PIN to the original corner pin that my neighbor found. Then never made the necessary adjustments for the 30 ft that he was off. He left his equipment in our yard overnight twice. I would not recommend him to anyone. The main thing is his lack of desire to rectify the situation. Basically getting a survey has caused me a ton of problems. And I still do not know where my boundaries are. He was very inexpensive but still a rip offAug 17, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For boundary surveys I charge by the linear foot of boundary line located. There is a minimum price for a parcel of land that is 1/2 acre or less. The unit rate per foot depends upon the type of terrain. Elevation Certificates depend on scope and size of project with a minimum of $425. Construction survey is priced at $90 per hours. Expert Witness Services is $90 per hour with a cap of $400 a day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? All land surveyors are required to obtain 15 hours of continuing education every year to maintain there license to operate.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I spent 12 years in the U.S. Army as an intelligence analyst. When I exited the military I got a desk job as a C/C++ Programmer. I missed being outside so I decided to get licensed as a land surveyor.
