I served as the Wedding Planner & Day of Coordinator for a wedding in which Kelvin was the DJ. I chose him as a vendor because he had great reviews and was very patient as the couple decided on the DJ they would choose. Once they made their decision, Kelvin was professional and helpful throughout the process. But, it was the day of the wedding in which I was most impressed. Kelvin arrived early in order to prepare for the pre-wedding and ceremony music. He & I had gone through the song list the week before. After he had all of his equipment set up, he called me over to talk to me. The couple had chosen the plan which would have the reception ending at 8 pm, but had told him they may ask him to extend his time of the party was still hot. He reviewed with me his scheduled time to leave; and, he also told me that on his was to the venue, he received a call that his 94 yr old mother had passed. I was surprised that he had not called in a back up DJ to come in and cover this wedding. But, he didn’t. He said he had scheduled himself to work this wedding and he was a professional. He would follow through with his responsibilities. I told him that I would make the bride aware of this news. He stopped me and said, “please don’t.” He said, “I know where my mother is and I will be meeting my family when I leave here. My wife and brother were with her when she passed. I have been in touch with them and we’ve already made some decisions. But, I am here to celebrate this couple’s special day. I would prefer that you not tell the bride.” And, I respected his request. If he had never told me about the passing of his Mom, I would have given him a raving review because he’s very good at what he does! But, when he shared this with me, I saw his character and work ethic. If you are looking for a professional DJ who works closely with the couple as they make their music selections and who sets a high standard for quality and professionalism, I highly recommend this company! You will not be disappointed!
