FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is usually on a fixed rate basis. I don't like hourly billing because it leaves too much unknown on the client side. Your cash flow is important to you, and you should be able to plan what your accounting/tax costs are going to be, not always be guessing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have an initial discovery call, which is no cost to the client. Let's face it, not every situation is going to be a fit for both sides. I'd rather invest a few minutes of my time with you so we don't waste each other's time later. If we see that working together is going to be beneficial, then the next step is a longer meeting, either virtual or face-to-face, to discuss what needs to be done and how we're going to accomplish the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a CPA since 2005, and I've been in the accounting field since 1995, starting out preparing tax returns for family right out of high school. I attended the University of Georgia with a major in accounting, graduating in 1999. In that time, I interned with a couple of local CPA firms, gaining experience in all areas of accounting and not just being exposed to one small area. I achieved my Masters degree online from Auburn University in 2007, and I maintain a minimum of 80 hours of continuing education every 2 years to maintain my CPA license, in the fields of accounting, tax, and business principles.
