I think I must've been dreaming..... I had what I thought would be a relatively easy fix..... so I called my long time plumber and was quoted in excess of $400 for what didn't appear to be a very complicated matter. that's ridiculous.
so I found King's Plumbing on Thumbtak, noticed it was VERY highly rated, so I gave them a request for quote.
not only did they arrive within an hour; there was no "service fee" charge. (others wanted $49.00 - $79.00 just to come out to give me a quote) but they honestly told me all that was wrong was that the fitting underneath the house had come loose, instead of telling me I needed all new PVC ! their final charge was less than 1/4th what my old plumber quoted me !!!!!
