About
I get people up and running in a fast, fun way - the student goes home with a SONG to practice the new techniques on. I also specialize in teaching easy pro techniques that can make a simple guitar/vocal performance sound like a record or a whole band!
I've written for, recorded and performed with artists like Every Mothers' Son, Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, as well as being a Songwriting Mentor for Nashville Songwriter's Assoc. Int'l.
Giving people the same feeling of excitement and musical fulfillment that I got when I started playing, but getting them there a lot faster.

I was excited about learning to play guitar, but how to begin was the problem. First, Denny called; his personality was warm and calming. He was very confident in his abilities, stated as a matter of fact, but does not major on that; he stayed focused on me, as a beginner, and how he could best serve my needs. From meeting me at the music store and providing guidance with my first guitar purchase through my first lesson, Denny provided gentle guidance and helped build my confidence. After the first lesson, I was able to play chords clearly and even had others to learn during my independent practice. I am very grateful I chose Denny as the professional to begin my new journey with. If you seriously want to learn how to play and enjoy your guitar experience, you owe it to yourself to get in contact with Denny.

Denny tailored a program specific to my learning pace and interest and was able to accelerate my program in the areas that I was most anxious to accomplish. Highly recommend this instructor whether you are learning for your personal enjoyment or to make music your career. He has the ability to teach different styles and techniques. You will get your moneys worth!

Denny is an intuitive & encouraging instructor. I came to him as a total novice, knowing only a few basic self-taught chords & thinking that being a "real" guitar player was out of my reach. I now feel that I have a great grasp on many different styles, feels, and voicings. I would've never believed it was possible, but Denny's patience and instruction have made me an actual guitar player!

I'm a songwriter but not a very good guitar player. I've taken four lessons so far from Denny and his instruction just in that short time has significantly improved my understanding and limited ability playing guitar.
Denny Sarokin's reply
Thanks, Richard -you're doing great and the best is yet to come!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$50 an hour - we usually go over that time at no extra cost to you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we'll talk over your goals and how best to achieve them On the first lesson, I'll have you play a few 30 sec. pieces of a few different things to evaluate your level of playing or technique - then we'll start building up the basics and adding new techniques. I try to incorporate a new song into every lesson, so you're having fun while you practice and feel confident as your songbook grows.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A lifetime of writing, recording, and touring with classic artists like Crosby, Still, Nash, & Young, Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band, Carly Simon, Bread, The Monkees, and many others - as well as knocking it out in clubs and studio work in NY, L.A. and Nashville and having my own Top Ten record. I'm also a Songwriting Mentor for Nashville Songwriter's Assoc. Int'l.
