FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
**PLEASE SEE FAQS FOR PRICING ON MY SERVICES** I begin all projects with a complimentary discovery call to get acquainted and to discuss your needs and your project's scope, and then we will schedule your in-person design consultation. Your consultation will be 2 hours which is typically what most projects require, and more time can be scheduled if needed for larger scope projects. The 2 Hour Consultation Fee is $300. If additional time is required, it is billed at the rate of $125 per hour. - PLEASE NOTE: All addresses outside of a 25 mile radius of Nashville will have a trip charge of $50 per 25 miles. Remote consultations are available upon request.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Here is an overview of how I work, each project is different so we will first discuss your project on the phone and then in greater detail when we meet for the Consultation. CONSULTATION FEE: $300 provides up to 2 hours of time to get to know you and your project needs. We discuss your vision, style, project goals & expectations, and budget. May include measure for 1 room/space within the 2-hour consultation time. - Additional measure of room/spaces at consultation, billed at $125 per hour. To give you the best possible experience in your project, please be prepared with a clear idea of the budget you need to work within as this helps us both know what is possible for your project. PROJECT DESIGN FEE - $125 per hour INCLUDES: - 2D to-scale Floor Plan Design & furniture layout for each room/space. - Selection of materials & items for each room/space - Architectural and/or renovation designs - Paint/ Wallcovering selections & schedules - Plumbing, hardware & building material selections - Project management, oversight of 3rd party contractors and custom work PROJECT ESTIMATE: Following the Consultation, I provide a Project Estimate based on your budget. The Design Fee, selections and estimated costs including project management time are included. This provides you with the best picture of what your total project cost is, adding greater peace of mind for you and overall value to the project and process. QUOTE PROCUREMENT FEE: If 3rd party contractor work is required for your project, a Quote Procurement Fee is determined based on the scope of your project and payment is due at the onset to begin your Project Estimate. We meet in-person or virtually to review the Project Estimate and upon approval, payment of the Design Fee is due. SPECIAL ORDERS: To get exactly what’s right & unique for your project often requires special/custom order items. Payment is required in-full for all special orders. Items that are special ordered cannot be returned unless they are damaged or defective in some way or arrive not as pictured or specified. In that case the manufacturer will replace the item with a corrected item. If the corrected item is not available from the manufacturer only then will a refund be given for the special ordered item. Lead times will vary and while I do my best to be accurate in my estimate of lead times, I cannot control unforeseen delays or backorders from manufacturers that occasionally do arise. I am always in communication with you to keep you updated on the arrival of your items. Good things are worth the wait! COMMUNICATIONS: Regular and clear communications are essential in the project going smoothly and for me to serve your needs in the best possible way. I request that all communications be replied to within the same day sent, unless exceptional circumstances prevent that, as I will do the same in return. Thank you! 3RD PARTY CONTRACTORS: All work done by contractors I refer is billed directly to client by contractor and my time involved in quote procurement, design, communication, project management and oversight is billed separately at the rate of $125 hour. CUSTOM WINDOW TREATMENTS, PILLOWS, CUSHIONS & BEDDING: Design time, delivery and installation are included in price. PROJECT INSTALLATIONS: I oversee all project installations which includes scheduling, organization, and oversight of the installation at the hourly rate of $125 hour. This also includes hanging artwork and mirrors personally or overseeing a 3rd party installer for large scale items. Delivery of furnishings is billed separately by provider. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Interior design comes naturally and intuitively to me. I have the ability to visualize what looks best for a space and fits the individual clients style and sensibilities, often when they can't visualize it themselves but still have a feeling of what they want. I have been seeing this way and doing this all of my life. This is not something that can be taught, but is something that comes natively and naturally and my work and client satisfaction shows that. I have been working professionally for nearly 20 years. I attended Tennessee Technological University, Cookville for Fine Arts in 95-97 and left school to pursue an opportunity working as an artist in a tile studio, where I worked for several years. My career pathway in interior design evolved organically from there as opportunities arose for me to help others in their homes, doing design work similar to what I had done in my own home.
