Introduction: Greetings! My name's Sarah.
I majored in Latin and ancient Greek at Vanderbilt University and graduated magna cum laude. While at Vanderbilt, I tutored about a dozen students ranging in age from 7 to 40. I taught high school in Nashville for a little while, and then I did a year of a master's in adolescent education program for Latin grades 7-12 at Hunter College CUNY in New York City where I had an excellent grade-point average as well. In addition to fieldwork with kids that was required for my program, I taught high school Latin at an inner-city school in Brooklyn, NY for two semesters.
I am now living in Nashville again and finishing my master's in teaching Latin at Belmont University. In the meantime, I would love to get some more experience in tutoring. I find working one on one with students very rewarding, and one-on-one tutoring can increase your understanding of the subject exponentially! If you have a middle or high school student taking Latin who could use some extra explaining and practice, and if you're a college student in the same boat or even if you're just curious about Latin, I'd love to help. I've used a variety of textbooks and methods and would be happy to follow what your own teacher has laid out for you or design a program of study.
I'm also able to help with any of your writing, reading, SAT or GRE verbal needs, math (up to Trig), and history.
Thanks, and be well!
