Full disclosure, I did not hire Jennifer to write my resume but this why you should consider her. I have no background in resume writing and like many who seek out a resume writer I rely on their expertise to craft a proper resume. Jennifer reviewed my current resume and then reached out to me by phone to let me know that my current resume was a well-written document and did not require a rewrite. These independent contractors on Thumbtack only make money on a project basis, Jennifer could have very easily tried to pick apart my current resume and sold me on hiring her to fix it. The fact that she was honest and forthright with me is commendable. I have sent my current resume to almost a dozen other thumbtack writers and every one of them but Jennifer attempted to sell me on a "reformatting" or a tune-up at a ridiculous cost. I can't vouch for her final product but if you are looking for one of the most honest contractors on this site, Jennifer is your girl!

It was such a pleasure to work with Jenn. She was very professional, accommodating, and easygoing and wasted no time gathering the necessary information she needed from me to tailor my resume. I work nights so it’s always an issue to coordinate any sort of appointments but Jenn accommodated for the hours that best worked for me and that was such a big plus. I did not have much luck with two other resume editors/career coaches that I reached out to in thumbtack prior to Jenn. She didn’t try to sell me any additional services and was attentive to what I wanted and needed instead of steering my goals to a direction that I have no desire to pursue. She was also very responsive and her turn around time was amazing. I’m very confident with the resume and cover letter that she created for me. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to set up a brief phone call so that we can discuss the purpose of the resume - and what they would like to see. Beforehand, I have them send me whatever resume they might have so we have a starting point for our phone call. After the call, I create their resume and then send it for their review. Included in the cost of the service is one revision; that way, once they view the draft resume we are able to incorporate any changes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters in Human Resource Management and two certifications in the field - SHRM-CP and PHR. I have been in the Human Resources field for over ten years and have handled recruitment and seen more resumes than I can remember! I like to create a resume that I would want to see as a recruiter - simple, clean and able to tell you everything in the first 30 seconds.
