I work in higher education, so I know that the people who are best at what they do are not always the best at teaching it. Trishawna is an exception! Not only is she an expert sewist, she is a truly phenomenal teacher. She understands the value of repetition in building a new skill, and she sequences those skills together in a way that is clear and allows you to see the progress you’re making. She is hands-off enough to let you learn from your mistakes (a rite of passage!) and hands-on enough to demonstrate new things and offer encouragement when you just can’t get that seam quite right (a regular experience for me!). She also has a keen sense of when you’re ready for your next challenge. Beyond all of that, she’s just a joy to be around. I recommend her wholeheartedly - you won’t regret it!

Trishawna is hands down the best sewing teacher, tailor, and biggest advocate for Nashville's sewing community in town. She cares deeply about her craft and the impression she leaves on her customers and colleagues. In a few short years, Trishawna taught me the skills I needed to grow in both my business and in life. She opened doors for me that I never thought were possible, and believed in my craft when I needed someone to believe in the most. She is thoughtful, curious, hilarious, kind, devoted, passionate, and encouraging. She makes sewing fun, even when it's the hardest project imaginable. I have taken 3 classes with Trishawna and hope to take more! She is a wealth of knowledge and incredible at explaining the best and fastest ways to become a great seamstress.
