I live in Nashville, TN, but I teach singers all over the country
online exclusively!
I studied voice at The Juilliard School, and I have been teaching since 2010. I understand how vocal technique applies to different singing styles, and I teach many genres, from pop to musical theater, jazz to classical. Besides my love for teaching, I have an active performing and recording career.
In our lessons, small adjustments yield BIG results! My focus is to keep direction simple and precise, taking the mystery out of the technical process. I have only had a few sessions with Pia so far, but I can already tell the difference in my voice. Not only the way it sounds, but also the way it FEELS to sing! She is patient and has a way of explaining things very easily - especially for someone like myself who doesn’t come from a musical background. I love that she provides structure for the lessons, but is also really flexible/dynamic and can change things based on needs or I can ask her any question (no matter how random) that pops up. It’s just really cool to have a teacher who is a master of her craft and is really excited to share it with others!!!

I spotted Pia on Thumbtack a month or two before I actually reached out to her. I had some sort of intuition telling me that she was the right voice teacher. And my gut was right!
I am a singer/songwriter, but have never really considered myself a vocalist, I guess maybe because if I didn’t claim to be one, no one would say I wasn’t one. I’m not really sure haha.
I’ve had a few lessons over the years, a couple independent and a couple different teachers as a course in college. I was convinced that it wouldn’t help after these failed attempts.
That’s until I met Pia. No one ever really took the time to explain things the way she does. Before I was told to belt, and I really felt it in my throat, and the teacher never corrected it, even though I knew it was wrong. I didn’t really know what else to do. My technique got slightly better over the years with practicing what felt more right with my body, but I knew I still needed help.
I’ve only been with Pia six weeks or so (Not Six Months… sorry, that’s the title of one of my songs 😂) and within the first one or two lessons, she already gave me more value than any of the other teachers had. With Pia, I’ve already hit notes I’ve never hit in my life and sounded better than I’ve ever sounded, and have been able to sing with complete freedom at some points. I know it will take time for my body to release all of my old habits, but I have no doubt that within time with Pia, she will have me where I want to be, singing comfortably and freely at all times, like second nature.
I can’t say enough good things about this woman. Oh, and did I mention she’s super fun? My lesson with her is the highlight of my week, and I’m so glad to have her as a teacher and know her as the beautiful human she is.

This was my first time taking singinglessons and I was completely clueless as to how to find a coach, let alone what developing a singing voice actually entails. All I knew was that I love to sing and I would like to sound better than a screeching bird. Pia is very attentive and non-threatening so if you are a beginner, you will not feel steam rolled or overwhelmed. She has the training to take on more advanced students as well so her ability to meet the needs of her students is excellent. I like that she makes weekly notes and adjusts the training so it matches my voice and natural sound. I always look forward to meeting with Pia because I get a lot of value out of our lessons. She has flexible hours as well! She has a great voice herself
