Introduction: We are Tapas Bravas, a Spanish cuisine food truck that was started by three friends in 2012 in Austin, TX. Local sources and international flavors are our inspiration for making delicious and healthy dishes for customers. All of our food are handmade from fresh ingredients and in many cases per order. Our chef, Jed Holdredge, learned the art of Spanish cooking by day while living in Valencia on the Mediterranean Coast of Spain, and at night, he focuses on perfecting how to "tapear", which is the practice of barhopping and sharing dish after dish of small plates (tapas) with friends. When Tapas Bravas began, we knew that Rainey was the perfect location to continue the tradition, and bring a more casual approach to Tapas in Austin. We serve a combination of authentic Spanish cuisine in the form of paellas and tapas, and other contemporary dishes based on classic recipes. We also serve corporate events, weddings, holiday parties, and music festivals. For hungry Texans, our lunch catering outfit has developed a menu of Texas sized bocadillos, a substantially larger version of the savory sandwiches eaten in Spain. Our bocadillos are based on classic tapas as well as home-style chicken and pork dishes that you simply cannot get anywhere else in Austin. All paper and plastics used by Tapas Bravas are a combination of post-consumer recycled, compostable, or recyclable grades. We buy local and organic ingredients when possible, and we are members of the Go Texan group from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
