Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Research shows that finding a counselor who is a good fit significantly increases the likelihood of a successful counseling experience. There are a lot of good counselors in Austin and choosing one can easily feel overwhelming. In 2016 100% of my new clients scheduled a follow up appointment. I tend to be pretty goal directed and interactive with the folks I work with and I think they appreciate that. Coming to therapy can be a challenge for some and I think I do a pretty good job of helping people relax into it. I'm fairly informal in my approach and my office environment is great for putting people at ease as much as possible. What's better than being involved with people who are trying really hard to better themselves. Getting to connect and talk with people around really important things is at the heart of good therapy and is something that I really enjoy.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My current hourly rate is $120. I am in-network with BCBS and some Aetna insurance policies. Most policies offer some reimbursement for out-of-network providers.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I completed my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1996 along with additional graduate hours that allowed me to pursue dual licensure. I completed my post graduate internship and obtained my license as a professional counselor in 2000. Each year I complete continuing education credits, attend professional workshops and read quite a few books.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Trust your instincts. If someone feels like a good fit they probably are. Don't hold back if you have questions or concerns. Good clinicians welcome feedback.
