FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am always willing to negotiate but know that my amount of experience is rare and know the bottom line of what it is worth with each event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always studying trends in music from across the world and apply to the international "Red Bull Academy" each year. The application in itself is a 50 page questionnaire that changes every year in order to teach musicians and DJs more about themselves and their trade.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started DJing my high school dances when I was 15 because I thought I could do it better than the guy who was up there every month. He didn't know my classmates, I did. I went to the principal and asked him to pay me $50 less than that guy just once and if people liked the job i did better, have me back. They did, he did, I became a DJ and the rest is history. I still believe I can do it better than the next guy pretty much every time I step up to the decks and if I believed I were mediocre I would quit doing it and find something I could excel at. I feel that with all the technology and access to becoming a DJ that people have, my experience and knowledge that I have gathered over the years is getting more and more valuable. I know tricks and details that many who have just entered the industry in the last decade may never know.
