I took lessons with Trevor for about 4-5 months. I was basically a complete beginner when I started taking lessons. In that time I really learned how to slow things down and practice methodically/efficiently. Trevor is a pretty clean and technique oriented player and he does a great job at breaking down those concepts. He won't ever teach you anything you don't want to learn and he'll go as far into theory as you wanna go. I definitely recommend him as he is well rounded musician and has knowledge on a lot of genres. Not to mention he is very easy going and always answers any guitar, gear or music related questions with a lot of depth.Jul 13, 2020Verified
I worked with Trevor for about a year and a half, with a couple months spent abroad in the middle of it. I took a few lessons for guitar when I was younger, but despite my interest and want to learn I never seemed to really pick up anything and never even learnt a song. A couple years ago, I became interested again and decided that instead of "waiting until I have more time", I'd get real training for the first time instead of trying to piece together what I could online every couple months. It worked. I came so far and made substantial progress without it ever really feeling like a grind. I'd decide on a song, often not acoustic or even guitar focused, then I'd show up and Trevor and I would adapt it to our own play styles. Like a language, just by playing through songs I started to see the patterns and styles and each song had some new technique to learn and focus on. As we got to the level of each song where we could play through it without stopping, flourishes and style would appear that really showed in the context of the music rather than just strumming a few chords found on a chord list online. The adaptions we made truly felt like our own. Great guy, always flexible which helped as I was a very busy student, and is really genuinely interested in not only the music but his students as well. I always looked forward to our conversations at the beginning of each lesson, and he was always quickly available by text if I had a new project idea or had a quick question about a song. Trevor has a real talent in not only playing, but adapting any song and teaching. If you've had a guitar sitting in your closet for awhile and thought about learning it someday, that time is now, and Trevor is your guy.Jul 12, 2020Verified
It's been a delight taking lessons from Trevor. He is one of those unique teachers, who not only excel at their craft, but have a very keen eye towards the art of teaching. He absolutely met me where I was at on my guitar learning journey, and gave the right guidance and nudge to set me on the right path. Wish I could continue taking lessons with him (but cannot anymore due to personal circumstances). Would highly recommend!Jun 21, 2020Verified
I started playing ukulele a few years ago and took lessons with a teacher that were, sadly, unfulfilling and unmotivating. I gave up on lessons until I decided to finally pick up guitar and try again to move forward with more lessons and strengthen my music theory base. Trevor has made learning the guitar a worthwhile investment that is absolutely paying off. Suddenly things make so much more sense musically, and I’m excited to practice at home and prepare to come back to my next lesson with new things to show him and new questions to ask. Trevor has been a delight as a teacher. He’s patient, understanding, funny, and willing to try more than a few angles to find out what excites his students and drives them to be better musicians than they were when they entered the room. I never dread a lesson with him, and I’m always just a little bummed when they’re finally over!Mar 15, 2019Verified
