Trevor is a game changer. Highly recommend! First off, virtual lessons work. If you’re like me, I was highly skeptical of them at first, only wanting in-person. Of course, with Covid, that was not happening. I contacted Trevor, scheduled an intro lesson and was hooked. The Zoom software works well and offers a couple extra benefits. At the end of our lessons, Trevor performs and records whatever we were working on so that I have it in video format during the week to reference while I practice. This has been a huge help. Also, when we work on theory, we can share a whiteboard while he writes and explains concepts. He is surprisingly good at writing with a mouse! Trevor is a first-rate teacher. He has great personality, sense of humor, patience, and most importantly an ability to break down the complex into the simple. For years, I had wanted to play Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Pride and Joy, but could never play the shuffle correctly, much less the intricate riffs in-between. Now I’m playing it at 90% live tempo. In fact, we are focusing on a blues song study progression, going through Freddie King to Eric Clapton to SRV. In parallel, we are also working on improv soloing techniques. A year ago, I would never have thought that I could pick up my guitar, connect the pentatonic scales, understand the theory, and solo with real emotion over a jam track. Without Trevor and our lessons, I would not be where I am at today. He has truly elevated my playing and I couldn't be happier with my continuing progress.

I have been taking guitar lessons with Trevor for 8 months. He has helped me greatly improve my technique and learn about music theory. He is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with. I am learning to play music now that seemed impossible before working with Trevor. It’s easy to see that he genuinely cares about helping his students reach their goals, whatever they may be. It’s been a pleasure to work with Trevor, and his lessons have helped my playing immensely. If you’re looking to level up your guitar skills, I highly recommend scheduling lessons with Trevor!

I took lessons with Trevor for about 4-5 months. I was basically a complete beginner when I started taking lessons. In that time I really learned how to slow things down and practice methodically/efficiently. Trevor is a pretty clean and technique oriented player and he does a great job at breaking down those concepts. He won't ever teach you anything you don't want to learn and he'll go as far into theory as you wanna go. I definitely recommend him as he is well rounded musician and has knowledge on a lot of genres. Not to mention he is very easy going and always answers any guitar, gear or music related questions with a lot of depth.

I worked with Trevor for about a year and a half, with a couple months spent abroad in the middle of it. I took a few lessons for guitar when I was younger, but despite my interest and want to learn I never seemed to really pick up anything and never even learnt a song. A couple years ago, I became interested again and decided that instead of "waiting until I have more time", I'd get real training for the first time instead of trying to piece together what I could online every couple months. It worked. I came so far and made substantial progress without it ever really feeling like a grind. I'd decide on a song, often not acoustic or even guitar focused, then I'd show up and Trevor and I would adapt it to our own play styles. Like a language, just by playing through songs I started to see the patterns and styles and each song had some new technique to learn and focus on. As we got to the level of each song where we could play through it without stopping, flourishes and style would appear that really showed in the context of the music rather than just strumming a few chords found on a chord list online. The adaptions we made truly felt like our own. Great guy, always flexible which helped as I was a very busy student, and is really genuinely interested in not only the music but his students as well. I always looked forward to our conversations at the beginning of each lesson, and he was always quickly available by text if I had a new project idea or had a quick question about a song. Trevor has a real talent in not only playing, but adapting any song and teaching. If you've had a guitar sitting in your closet for awhile and thought about learning it someday, that time is now, and Trevor is your guy.
