Floor Installation or Replacement

So we found Mauricio and his company when looking to replace our carpet w/ hardwood flooring. After visiting just about every major and some smaller hardwood flooring companies, we noticed most places you buy the flooring from subcontract their own installers. (A tactic a lot of companies use to make you think they’re saving you money on the floors by charging you on the back end with the contractors they hire). With our experience, when companies do that the contractors aren’t as detail oriented. So in our search for floors and installers, Mauricio was recommended to us. When visiting his website, his portfolio was incredible. You can see the attention to detail, when we reached out for an estimate, he made himself available right away. When he came to take measurements, even the attention to detail was noticeable right away. Different from all the other estimates we received (5-6). When we decided we wanted to move forward with him we ordered our floors. (He also helped us with what would work best for our foundation and what we were looking for. We received the eta on the floors and he was there to pick them up as soon as they arrived. He showed up with a team of 4-6 guys and they began setting up and working almost immediately. They taped off and moved heavy furniture and did their best to avoid unnecessary dust in the air ( we had a new born at the time) and aside from removing carpet, they also removed tiled floor. Anytime something unexpected came up, he reached out to us. His communication from start to finish was great. He really made us feel comfortable with the preparation and installation process. He would reach out and give us options and opinions on the way we should approach our staircases and various rooms, from transitions to direction in which would flow more naturally. His team takes just as much pride in their work as he does. On days where he needed to step out for supplies or any errands he left his team working and their precision (you’ll see in the video of the entry floor) was impressive and truly art. Something I noticed that is commonly overlooked is laying the right pieces and tones of the wood flooring so that it also flows naturally and easy on the eyes. I could not recommend them enough. He has reached out on several occasions to make sure we haven’t had any issues. There is so much more I could say, but I feel pictures and videos speak for themselves. We replaced the carpet on our second floor, stairs, and master bedroom. Mauricio and his crew did an amazing job with our flooring installation, and the end result is beautiful! What really stuck out to me was how personable Mauricio was through every step of the project. I had lots of questions about how flooring orientation, baseboards, stair-noses, and trim would look in our home and he made multiple trips to our house to demonstrate and talk through my questions, in person. This commitment as well as his attention to detail really made a difference to me when having this big project completed. Mauricio and his team at General Wood Flooring are trustworthy and perform a top notch install. Thanks again, it was great working with y'all!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the job size and what is needed, sometimes I can give a discount for labor. Examples of this would be moving furniture or installing some stuff for free. This is not guaranteed this all depends on the job size and what is needed.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The customer needs to tell me what type of flooring they would like installed, for example glue down wood, vinyl, or laminate and the area or places they would like it installed. Then we will schedule a time for me to come and look at what the customer wants done so I can give an estimate at the same time. If we can agree on price, the customer would need to put a down payment and we can schedule when they would like the work to be done.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15 years of experience in carpet, tile, wood and other material removal as well as the installation of hardwood, vinyl, and laminate flooring.
