FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started with my own personal journey. At 20 years old I was experiencing hormonal imbalances and I was 50 pounds overweight. Exercise alone was not allowing me to lose weight like I had expected it to. I began reading books and studying nutrition at home, and at the same time I started cooking for myself at home. I learned the importance of the hormones in the body, and their correlation with body fat. I became extremely passionate about food, and I decided to get a Sports Nutritionist Certificate with the ISSA. Since then, I have not gone a day without reading or watching seminars about health and nutrition because I truly love to learn about it, and teaching nutrition has also become my passion. I've begun writing personal health and development books because I want to share the knowledge with others. I believe that too many people need these answers, and just don't seem to know where to start. My goal is educate you beyond working with me, so that nutrition comes easily and naturally.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have been lucky to work with a wide variety of clients so far, of all different ages and genders. Some diet restrictions I have worked with include: Diabetes and Prediabetes; Celiac's and gluten sensitive; IBS; dairy free; low carb; low fat; low cholesterol; vegan and vegetarian.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be ready to be open and honest with your nutritionist, because you will be building a relationship with them! When looking to hire a nutritionist, really talk to them about everything you would like them to provide for you.
