FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The pricing from job to job varies. Some homeowners prefer an hourly rate while others wish to be provided with a direct quote, and even then there are those who wish for just labor quotes and those who wish for quotes with labor and materials included. Painting is priced differently than deck building. Rough carpentry is priced differently than fine detailed carpentry, and so on. I am also a fan of the barter system. We are a human family and the barter system is a great reminder of this!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy getting to speak in person. If the job is a small one then it is common that I meet the person on the day of the job but if it is a lengthier job, I really prefer going to the site of work, shaking their hand, having a look and then returning at a later date to begin the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
If I come across a project where I cannot solve the issue, I research many avenues until I am able to resolve it. I ask many different question to many different people until I find the answer which makes the most logical sense.
