Rachelle Davis says, "Justin and his team at New Neighbors Home & Lifestyle did an amazing job installing a motorized track shade on our covered patio. We have beautiful sunsets in our backyard, but that also means brutal afternoon and evening sun, so this was something I had wanted for years.Because it was a significant investment, we did our homework and received five different quotes before making a decision. Justin checked all of our boxes. The quality of his product stood out from several of the other options we looked at, there were plenty of customization choices, and the entire process from ordering to installation was seamless. He kept us updated throughout, and installation was completed within just a few weeks. Now that weve had our shade for a while, I can confidently say it was one of the best additions weve made to our patio. We use it all the time, it has held up beautifully, and it makes our outdoor space so much more enjoyable during the Texas afternoons and evenings.Justin is knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and genuinely great to work with. His whole team was wonderfuleven sweet to our kids and dogs while they were here. We love supporting small, local businesses, and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend New Neighbors Home & Lifestyle to anyone considering a motorized shade. We couldnt be happier with ours!"See more

Mike's Remodeling and General Contracting
Mike's Remodeling and General Contracting
Mike was 30 minutes late to our scheduled quote appointment, no call or warning.

We were discussing two jobs. A patio roof, and new counter tops in my kitchen. He tried to explain a kitchen remodel is $10,000, and I stated I'm only doing new counter tops, those aren't $10,000. He then stated that granite is an expensive remodel, and I said I want quartz or man-made, not granite. I don't like granite and it's more expensive. He said no, they're the same. I said that can't be true, (according to every single linear price range online and in-stores). I wasn't rude, I just stated it doesn't make sense. Granite is always more expensive, and the next contractor agreed with me. Mike got offended and said he isn't interested in helping me if I'm going to disagree with him and his 20 years of experience. I tried to interject and explain my reasons of disagreeing, but he was pissed and so he started to walk out, while expressing disrespect. I told him not to let the door hit him on the way out. He got the last word in and told me "I wish I'd never come to this sh*ithole." REAL NICE GUY.

Don't come into my house and talk to me that way. I can pay someone else to help me. If you don't want a small budget job, turn it down with grace.

*** In response to Mike's response, he wrote his response 2 years after this happened. Maybe he doesn't remember much at all from this experience, but firstly, there wasn't a female assistant present. He's straight up lying or doesn't remember what happened. I was open to using metal instead of plastic, and appreciated his input on that. Mike lost his cool with me and insulted me for questioning his knowledge and price numbers for the kitchen project. I got uncomfortable with him in my house and told him to get out immediately. He was pissed and just kept insulting me so I told him not to let the door hit him on the way out (this is as crass or mean as I got) and then he swore at me on his way to the door and his truck. His $10K-14K quote in actuality ended up costing me $3500 for the kitchen and $1000 for the patio roof (and got this similar price quote from 3 other individuals). Long story short, he didn't want to take on a small project but was mad he wasted time with me.
