- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read books and magazines, and research the Internet for both gardening and sewing info and inspiration.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have at least two lines of work. I took to sewing early on when I was a teenager. I spent a lot of time outdoors as a child growing up in the tropics so I have always loved having plants around me.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of container gardening. I have a good sense of what plants "go together". I also love to maintain tropical plants and can set up regular visits. With sewing, I have done a lot of mending and really enjoy giving things new life. I have made lots of dresses, a few formal but mostly the casual summer dress. I have made men's shirts, but I don't do suits or that sort of thing. I have made some children's clothes too. I patch jeans with my own designs and special techniques. I make fantastic potholders and have sold several cat quilts.
