I’m Teresa, a professional flutist and music instructor. I have a bachelor’s degree in flute performance from Texas State University as well as a master’s degree in Jazz Flute Performance. I’ve been teaching private lessons for the last eight years and incorporate lesson notes, music theory, music history, customized exercises, practice methods, and repertoire-building pieces into my lessons. I have experience teaching young, beginner flutists all the way up to college-level and everything in between. I tailor lessons to the goals of each individual and, as a teacher, I love to work to fulfill the potential of each student.
I am available for a free 30 minute consultation at your earliest convenience so as to discuss goals, musical interests, and flute-relevant topics!
You can listen to some of my playing below. The first is a short film I recorded the flute solos for and the second a famous flute orchestral excerpt displaying technique and breath control. Enjoy!
