Although I had a series of resumes April was able to clean them up and create one dynamic finished product. What stood out most was the cover letter. I have worked in several different industries but April managed to highlight my valuable and unique skills, while merging all my experiences. Writing the resume is one thing, but nailing the interview is another. April shared tips on noticing “responsibility” words and how to utilize them in my resume, how not to “trip up” the applicant tracking system when submitting online, and what to include in the cover letter vs. what to discuss in the interview. I had the honor of supervising Lisa Steffek when she worked as a writing consultant at the University of Texas Undergraduate Writing Center (UWC), the largest and busiest writing center in the country (with approximately 11,000 visits a year from writers across all disciplines). As Program Coordinator, I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the writing center, including the training and supervision of the consulting and administrative staff. Over the course of the time that she worked there, Lisa conducted 256 forty-five minute one-on-one writing consultations with UT undergraduates. She was a reliable and committed member of our staff, while at the same time impressively maintaining a high GPA and finishing the dissertation for her doctoral program. In addition to her exemplary job performance, she continually delighted me with her lively mind and rare perspective.     Catherine helped me with both my resume, cover letters, and the case studies for my portfolio. She is an excellent editor and writer as she not only would tell me to revise certain parts of whatever she was editing, she would give me a reason on why it should be revised and how I could improve it by giving me thoroughly detailed examples. As someone who briefly studied english and managed to get A's on all my english papers at UT Austin, Catherine is a definitely a next-level writing guru!
