FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is fairly reasonable and what I consider on the least expensive end of the spectrum in regards to other tutoring services and big named companies. Included in my price is includes what I call "tutor notes" which is a PDF scanned or hard copy of detailed colored coated notes that I personally write out by hand that explains how to solve homework problem sets that is currently being discussed within the session that is given to the student at the conclusion of each session to be used as future study notes and exam prep (this also included exam reviews as well). My price also included, if applicable and based on need, supplies that will be bought personally for each student to help foster learning and academic success (for example for my dyslexia students I have provided personal white boards and markers to use during independent studying to help maintain focus and ease stress). Lastly, for students needing three hours or more tutoring sessions in one day a slight discount is given and can be discussed in person.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process when obtaining a new student is similar if in person or online. I first will conduct a free 30-45 minute phone call, Skype video call, or in person meeting a local Starbucks or in the student's home for a simple meet and greet. During this time is a perfect way for not only the student or the student's parent to get all their questions answered but for myself to get to know you better as a future client. I will typically ask a few questions to see where we are in our learning process such as tings like: current grade average, comments and concerns the student has, goals for the semester or year regarding there course, what they are currently doing in terms of studying, if disabilities are a factor etc. Also during this assessment I ask, if it is possible, for a copy of the student's course outline, current topics they are currently learning, a copy of current homework problem sets, etc from which I can use to obtain and plan for future sessions; if this cannot be provided I will provide my contact information so that way this information can be sent via email. During this session, if both the client and myself feel we will be a good match progressing forward a tentative first session date and time will be scheduled.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of students both young and old in all academic levels and fields. My range of students have included elementary school students to middle school and high school students to college and graduate students to even those not seeking a degree or simply completing a certification. Not only this, I have worked with numerous students that contain learning disabilities such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc. A lot of my college graduate students have moved on to become lawyers, educators, nurses, medical doctors, PhD candidates and much more!
