About
My tutoring business is different from the major name brand tutoring companies in unique ways. First off, all my sessions are tailored specific to each student weakness areas that is discovered during an initial assessment to ensure content mastery and understanding. Second, my tutoring sessions are broken down to eliminate all the "fluff" that a textbook and professor/teacher provides and is expressed in simple and easy to follow layout that is straight to the point. Third, my sessions incorporate new ways of solving a problem that is discussed within in the session but also provided on a student handout of the "tutor's notes" for that session. Fourth, in regards to reason three, all my students get a PDF copy of my detailed notes that is over homework problems workout in advanced for each student to use as a reference during exam prep. Fifth, all my sessions include some form of tip or advice as to how to study for the course, exam prep, test taking strategy, content open ended contemplation and a way to connect the dots for easy remembering along with study tips and note taking. Lastly, I care about my students and I fully listen to their needs, concerns, fears and goals for their class they are seeking tutoring in along with providing my own experiences and struggles to being able to relate to each student so they feel conformable and are able to "open up" during each session.

David s such an amazing tutor and truly cares about his students!! He goes above and beyond for all of his students and provides clear cut big picture concepts! His PDF tutor notes are amazing and help with studying for exams! Without him I wouldn’t have gone up two letter grades in a month!

I was struggling in General Chemistry during my first semester in college. However, David helped me so much during my semester that I was able to not only pass my class but also make an A. He was so helpful and responded very quickly. Keep up the good work!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is fairly reasonable and what I consider on the least expensive end of the spectrum in regards to other tutoring services and big named companies. Included in my price is includes what I call "tutor notes" which is a PDF scanned or hard copy of detailed colored coated notes that I personally write out by hand that explains how to solve homework problem sets that is currently being discussed within the session that is given to the student at the conclusion of each session to be used as future study notes and exam prep (this also included exam reviews as well). My price also included, if applicable and based on need, supplies that will be bought personally for each student to help foster learning and academic success (for example for my dyslexia students I have provided personal white boards and markers to use during independent studying to help maintain focus and ease stress). Lastly, for students needing three hours or more tutoring sessions in one day a slight discount is given and can be discussed in person.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My typical process when obtaining a new student is similar if in person or online. I first will conduct a free 30-45 minute phone call, Skype video call, or in person meeting a local Starbucks or in the student's home for a simple meet and greet. During this time is a perfect way for not only the student or the student's parent to get all their questions answered but for myself to get to know you better as a future client. I will typically ask a few questions to see where we are in our learning process such as tings like: current grade average, comments and concerns the student has, goals for the semester or year regarding there course, what they are currently doing in terms of studying, if disabilities are a factor etc. Also during this assessment I ask, if it is possible, for a copy of the student's course outline, current topics they are currently learning, a copy of current homework problem sets, etc from which I can use to obtain and plan for future sessions; if this cannot be provided I will provide my contact information so that way this information can be sent via email. During this session, if both the client and myself feel we will be a good match progressing forward a tentative first session date and time will be scheduled.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all kinds of students both young and old in all academic levels and fields. My range of students have included elementary school students to middle school and high school students to college and graduate students to even those not seeking a degree or simply completing a certification. Not only this, I have worked with numerous students that contain learning disabilities such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc. A lot of my college graduate students have moved on to become lawyers, educators, nurses, medical doctors, PhD candidates and much more!
