Before working with Cody I was scoring very low on my practice tests and unfocused. His method was very successful for easing anxiety, scheduling study sessions, and making me feel comfortable with the content. I improved my first score by 8 points with only 4 sessions and will be retaking the GRE to see if I can do even better with more sessions. Thank you !Aug 2, 2017Verified
My session with Cody was so informative and helpful. I have not taken the GRE yet, but I feel much more confident in my plan of action than I was before my session with Cody. Even one session made a world of difference. He went over everything at the perfect speed and kept my attention the entire time. He was very friendly and flexible with my requests, including the speed we studied at as well as small breaks I needed to take. I would recommend his services to everyone!Jan 19, 2017Verified
Never thought studying for a test could be fun! Never thought I would say that! Definitely true though. Cody had the punch, the humor and the emotional intelligence to get me excited about a not so exciting test ( GRE ). Moreover, he took away my fear and his nerve-calming-techniques proved extremely valuable on test day.Dec 22, 2016Verified
Gave me great test strategies and new ways to study. One of my main issues was with time management and after tutoring with Cody I was actually able to finish all sections in time. He definitely helped me to increase my scores!Dec 1, 2016Verified
Only a couple of sessions in but I wish I signed up sooner!Oct 9, 2016Verified
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I'm always taking practice GRE tests and SAT tests to stay up to date and keep my edge. While the verbal is easy for me, the quantitative requires more practice for me, so I take frequent math practice tests. I usually try to do them without pencil or paper, so I can practice my mental math as well.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I teach a private GRE prep class here in College Station, Texas. I also have contracts with nearby Texas A&M University and teach very large classes (100+ students) for the College of Engineering, the CANIETI program, and the Honors Program. Finally, I do lots of one-on-one online tutoring with students all over the world!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Always ask about instructor experience. Big national companies like Kaplan and Princeton Review often have grad students with only a few months of experience teaching classes that cost over $1000 dollars! Others tutors may have scored well in the math or verbal, but good scores don't make a good teacher. I've been teaching GRE prep for over 15 years now and have had thousands of students! I've gotten perfect scores on quantitative and verbal many times over the years. I am also a professional teacher and have been since 1999. That means if you are struggling with something, I've probably met with many students who've had the same problem. I know what works and what doesn't. That saves you time and money AND it gets you a better score on the GRE!
