Most of the carpenters/contractors I know are capable of work as good as mine and mine is as good as theirs. The difference is experience. The longer someone has been doing it, the more knowledgeable they are, theoretically at least. We all have good days and bad days. I try to do the best I can on every job. Some of them are more difficult and there are time constraints and budget constraints, a lot of factors that come into play. I hope that my work compares favorably to my peers but I seldom get to see their work nor they, my work so I don't have any sort of example to compare to. I bid a job, get hired, do the job and it's on to the next one, no time to compare. If they like my work, I hope they will tell their friends and neighbors and if they don't, I hope they will tell me so that I can get it right with them.I can't fix what I don't know about. I get to meet some nice people and, once in a while, some who aren't but the variety is always there. For the most part I get to choose my own hours which is always nice. There are exceptions of course but that's all part of the deal. It keeps me sharp keeping up with the prices of things and new products that come on the market.
