What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is dependent on your pets coat and weight. Small bath dogs start at $40, small haircuts start at $75.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was certified as a groomer from big box pet store in 2017. Since then I have continued my education in various seminars and expos, and received certifications in the following: Fear Free, AKC SAFE, schnauzer trims by International groomer Victor Rosado, difficult dog grooming by winner of Pooch Perfect Macie Pisa, and I have received my Certified Canine Esthetician title.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always knew I wanted to work with animals. I had a little experience working at a veterinarian office as a kennel tech, at a shelter, and even a petting zoo! However, I wanted something more stable that I could make a career out of so I applied at a big box pet store. I trained to
be a groomer, learned new skills, knowledge, and fell in love with this career! I eventually spread my wings and worked at a few mom and pop shops until I eventually opened on my own!
