FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All projects as I have mentioned before have their own personality. I figure material and labor . I then add degree of difficulty and present my best quote based on simply a common sense estimate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My skills are basically matching the architecture of the existing home . I do not require continuing education courses but the electricians, AC contractors and plumbers have to follow up with these courses. As a residential remodeling contractors our licensing is basic. We have to register in each city that we pull permits in every year. I am fully insured .
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was working for another company that seemed to be un organized and I wanted to have control of my own schedule. I was remodeling restaurants all over the United States and it was hard being away from my wife and son for as much as three months at a time. I loved carpentry and remodeling and by this time felt I was very good at it and managing my team so it seemed a great time to make a break and start out on my own. I made some cards and started greeting everyone I saw and passing them out and giving free estimates and within just a few weeks I landed a project doing doors and windows for a friends mother. I felt good knowing that the job was done right. That was in 1988 and I got my DBA in June of 1989 . I never looked back and am so great ful that with Gods help we are still going strong after all of these years.
