They didn't do any work. They told me the problem was relatively easy to fix and told me how to do it if I wanted to save money. So I did it myself. It was easy, saved the money. They were polite hand helpful.

Shorty's Plumbing responded to my ASAP request to fix a gas leak within 10 minutes of posting. They gave a fixed (reasonable) price for the pressure test which would be required, and a price estimate guessing at what the repair would involve. The crew was at the house within 3 hours of posting the job. It was the second plumbing company I had hired to fix the gas leak. This time the repair was completed properly and within the pre-discussed cost. Shorty's even accepted CC payment (my preferred method). The only very minor nit-pick would be they had to call the payment details back into the office for processing, but I was emailed the receipt. Not a problem at all. They will be my first call on the next plumbing issue.

Yes we have a Standard Pricebook that we use. Once our specialist diagnose the issue, they will sit down with you, and show you the price in our pricebook IN PERSON. This way there are no hidden fees. The price is the price as it states in our book.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we speak to customer over the phone in order to find out exactly what the issue is, this is to help partially diagnose what kind of issue they are having, and in order to help us figure out the right technician specialist to send to their home.
