- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, my marketing manager talks with the client by phone or email and gets basic information to make sure I'm appropriate for the event. Then she schedules a free demo, so the client can make sure that they like my style of magic. Most have never hired a magician, so this gives them a measure of comfort. Then we complete a service agreement and get a deposit to hold the date. Final payment is due prior to the performance date.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My Magic career actually began when I was 10 years old at vacation bible school. During the week, one of the entertainers was a magician. She allowed me to be her assistant, and when I got on stage and saw the audience's reaction to the effects she was doing - from that moment on, I was hooked. At a young age, I couldn't read enough about Magic. I checked out every book possible.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My specialties are Close-up Magic, wandering around among groups of people performing magic at their tables, and interactive stage magic. These types of effects are great for cocktail parties and corporate events.
